711 Fifth Avenue occupies a prominent corner. Over the years, the building’s exterior lighting had becoming increasingly hard to maintain. Many of the fixtures were obsolete and could no longer be re-lamped. Building owner, The Coca-Cola Company, wanted the building to “pop” on avenue. A new state-of-the-art lighting system accomplishes the task. The elegant design of white light LEDs complements the building’s limestone façade and highlights architectural details. It is energy efficient and low maintenance. Onsite mock-ups were conducted to assure the correct color temperature proper mix of lamps. Final placement of the LED luminaires considered several different mounting conditions. Controls are programmed to bring up the lights to a pre-set level as the sun sets.
