Stonecrop Garden is proud to announce first official lecture and photo demonstration the new workshop, exhibit and events building at the nearly 30-year-old public garden.

This Saturday [September 18, 2021] there will be a “Meet the Artist” for the exhibit “Botanical Portraits” during regular visiting hours as well as the first official workshop in the new space, including after-hours garden access and a reception, beginning at 5:30 pm. Lori Adams will discuss her three styles of botanical art (inspiration and technical aspects), including in the garden, garden portraits in the studio and she will demonstrate her style of Netherlandish-Inspired Still Lifes with participant
involvement.

This past Sunday members explored the grounds, had tea and cakes, participated in botanical contests and raffles as well as visiting the photographic exhibit by Adams. “People were in awe of the beautiful style and the construction of the building, with many people fascinated by the trusses (as I am) in addition as the artwork. I am glad to be one of the first exhibitors in this marvelous space and place.”

The name of the building pays homage to the role of gardeners’ work and vision in creating and preserving fine gardens. Stonecrop’s new building is rich in resources for events, workshops and exhibits.

The exhibit and the building are open many weekends through the end of Stonecrop’s season on Saturday, October 30.
