Consulate General of Sweden in New York Reopens
In collaboration with Swedish architecture firm Hidemark & Stintzing Arkitekter AB, Janko Rasic Architects recently completed the new office of Consulate General of Sweden in New York at One Dag Hammarskjöld Plaza. Located on the 40th floor, the light filled office enjoys fantastic views of Downtown and Midtown Manhattan. Janko Rasic Architects previously collaborated with Hidemark & Stintzing Arkitekter AB on the renovation of the Permanent Mission of Sweden to the United Nations
About the Consulate General
In December 2015, the honorary Consulate General of Sweden in New York was upgraded to a full diplomatic mission. Leif Pagrotsky is Consul General and head of the new Consulate. The Consulate General focuses on the promotion of Sweden in a broad sense, including trade and investment, cultural and consular affairs.
The Consulate General in New York represents Sweden in the states of New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Maine, Vermont, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and New Hampshire. This district includes the honorary consulates in Boston, MA, Jamestown, NY and Philadelphia, PA.
Cultural, Commercial and Public Affairs
The Consulate conducts cultural, commercial and public affairs, including coordination and support of events to showcase Swedish culture and promote Swedish interests in the New York area. The Consulate also provides information about Sweden to the public and media, and facilitates exchange between organizations, companies and institutions in Sweden and the U.S.”– Consulate General of Sweden in New York
Janko Rasic Architects has worked with foreign missions and consulates such as the Slovenian Mission, the African Union to the United Nations, the Greek Press & Communication Office, and the Permanent Mission of France.
